Alvarez succed to retain his middleweight tittle in his first defense, after six months he taking it from Miguel Cotto.
"Like I said from the beginning, I knew he was very fast and knew it would be competitive in the beginning. But I knew time would come to my favor, and you saw that, " Alvarez said to ESPN. Alvarez booked the record 47 wins, 1 draw and 1 lost.
